Stop the Bleed

The Stop the Bleed campaign was introduced in the United States in 2015, and is aligned with the American College of Surgeons who developed the “Bleeding Control Basics” course which is now taught throughout the US and Canada. Stop the Bleed is a national awareness campaign and call-to-action. It is intended to cultivate grassroots efforts that encourage bystanders to become trained, equipped, and empowered to help in a bleeding emergency before professional help arrives.

To support this campaign, VGH Trauma Services is hosting two Stop the Bleed “Bleeding Control Basics” courses on the national day of action on May 23rd from 10:00am-11:00am and 11:00am-12:00pm in the Tzu Chi Building, 767 West 12th Avenue, Vancouver, BC.

Everyone is welcome. No previous medical training is required.
