This video features Steve Howe, a young man from Squamish, injured in an accident, who — after undergoing 78 surgeries at VGH and significant physical rehabilitation at GF Strong Rehab Centre — has gone on to marry, have a family, and return to work. The story focuses on the continuum of health care highlighting aspects along the way that impacted Steve emotionally, from his arrival on the helipad until his eventual return home. His favourite health care professional, Dr. Richard Simons, ICU nurse; Steve Sells and Physiotherapist; Tracy Ross talk about the role they played in their patient’s recovery. This video was shown at the 2012 Night of a Thousand Stars Gala held by the VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation on November 16th, 2012.
